How to extend the service life of the plug valve?
2024-11-26 14:42:22

The methods to extend the service life of the Plug Valve mainly include regular maintenance, reasonable operation and proper installation. Here are some specific measures:
1. Correct installation
Choose the right valve model: Make sure to select a plug valve suitable for the working environment (such as temperature, pressure, and fluid properties).
Avoid overtightening: Avoid overtightening the valve during installation to ensure that the connector is not damaged, and avoid leakage or damage to the plug valve due to excessive pressure.
Rationally arrange the pipeline: Ensure that there is no excessive bending or tension when the pipeline is connected to the plug valve to reduce mechanical stress.

2. Avoid overload use
Avoid overload operation: Ensure that the plug valve is used within the specified pressure and temperature range to avoid exceeding the maximum working pressure of the valve.
Consideration of fluid properties: If the fluid is a particle, corrosive or high-viscosity substance, a specially designed plug valve should be selected. Particles will cause wear of the valve core, and corrosive fluids will accelerate the corrosion of the valve body.
3. Regular maintenance and inspection
Regular lubrication: Provide proper lubrication for the sealing part and valve stem of the valve to reduce wear and prevent dryness or jamming.
Check the sealing: Check the sealing surface and valve body of the valve regularly for leakage, and replace the worn parts in time.
Clean the valve: Remove the sediment or dirt inside the valve to prevent the accumulation of impurities from affecting the normal operation of the valve.
Check the valve stem: Check the surface of the valve stem regularly for corrosion, scratches or deformation, and replace it in time if it is damaged.
4. Control the flow rate of the medium
Avoid drastic changes in flow: Avoid drastic changes in fluid flow rate during startup and shutdown to reduce the impact on the valve.
Avoid water hammer: Water hammer will cause instantaneous high-pressure impact on the valve, so water hammer should be avoided or reduced during system design.
5. Regular testing
Functional test: Regularly check the opening and closing performance of the valve to ensure its flexible operation without problems such as jamming and poor sealing.
Check the operating mechanism: If the plug valve has an electric or pneumatic operating mechanism, it is necessary to check the working condition of the electric or pneumatic device to avoid affecting the use of the valve due to control system failure.
6. Reasonable material selection
Anti-corrosion materials: For corrosive fluids, choose materials with strong anti-corrosion properties (such as stainless steel, alloys, etc.) to delay the corrosion process of the valve body.
Wear-resistant materials: For fluids containing particulate matter, choose valve materials with good wear resistance.
7. Operation specifications
Avoid frequent opening and closing: Avoid frequent opening and closing of the plug valve to reduce the wear of the valve body and sealing surface.
Gentle operation: Avoid severe force during operation to avoid damage to the valve stem and sealing surface.
Through the above measures, the service life of the plug valve can be greatly extended, ensuring its stability and reliability in long-term use.
